Reyhaneh Jabbari Hung for Murder
Reyhaneh Jabbari was sentenced to be hung if she didn’t apologize to Moreteza Abdolai Sarbandi’s family for the sexual assault claims. Reyhaneh claims that Moreteza had called her in to design his office and lured her into his flat on the presence of work but then after attacked her, She says that the killing was an act of self defense. the attack happened in 2007 back when she was 19 years old and now she is 26. His son Jalal claims that there was another man in the apartment the time of the killing as Reyhaneh texted her boyfriend saying she is gonna kill his father. This article was written on April 14 2014. Sarbandi was a doctor and she said that he had drugged her before he attacked her. She was hung 7 days after her trial on April 14 2014, after serving 7 years of being in prison. According to her mother she believes that someone had destroyed evidence to the case that could have saved her daughter’s life, her family now fears for the safety since they were recently under surveillance and being chased by unknown people down the street. Reyhaneh had encountered him when Sarbandi came up to her and asked her to design his office before going there he had made a stop to the pharmacy to pick up a date rape drug later putting it in a glass of juice offering it to her, making clear as he told her “There is no escaping” there was a n altercation and she stabbed him twice in the shoulder with a foldable pocket knife he later bled out and died. She wanted her organs to be donated anonymously.
Her life could have been saved by the victim’s family but they refused.
Jabbari purchased a kitchen knife and the murder weapon (pocket knife) two days before committing murder. She texted her friend that her intention was to kill.
