Death of Tibetan Man after Protesting
Sangye Khar, 33, set himself aflame and passed away outside a police station in Beijing, resulting in the first self-sacrifice protest in three months against Beijing’s rule in Tibetan-populated areas in China.
The Tibetan man died “in protest against Chinese policies in Tibetan areas,” RFA’s source stated.
The last two self-immolations also took place in front of Chinese Police Stations. Khar became the 134th man to die in protest of Chinese control and power over Tibetan areas.
Chinese security swamped many locations of the Tibetan plateau to put an end to sel-immolations and other protests of the Chinese rules.
“Soon after this, the presence of security personnel increased in the area, and restrictions were imposed on the movements of the people in the area.” stated a bystander.
